Born and raised in Berkeley, with an educational path to become a psychotherapist, my life took a turn after enrolling in my first class in metal fabrication. Now I am a jewelry designer with over 20 years experience in metal fabrication, using primarily sterling silver embellished with semiprecious stones or pearls.
I am inspired by the natural elements and forms in my environment, as well as the simplicity of geometric shapes. I begin a piece with a concept or the color scheme of stones, then allow the design to emerge as the piece evolves. Often it is the mistakes made while attempting an original design, that the most interesting work unfolds. I have an eye for color and overall composition in my pieces, and an awareness of fashion trends and ease of wear-ability.
Most of my jewelry is one-of-a-kind, which has allowed me to indulge my passion in the creative process.
I received my training at the Richmond Art Center and the Revere Academy, and I continue to take workshops to expand my knowledge and growth. My work has been sold at local galleries which include Virginia Breier in San Francisco, Christensen Heller in Oakland, ACCI Gallery, and MowenSolinsky Gallery in Nevada City.
